Lawdy, son

Have I mentioned my recent obsession with Luke Bryan?
I think I may have touched on it here:
http://southavensupermom.blogspot.com/2011/08/cmt-ramblings.html

Well, I suppose it's as close as I get to an obsession with a celebrity, which is both mild and rare.

Here's the short list:
  • Jordan Knight
  • Kevin Costner
  • John Cusack (this one lasted the longest)
  • John Krasinski
  • Luke Bryan
Anyhoo, there is at least a mild case of celebrity infatuation there.

Moving on to some sort of point...
At the thank-you dinner I did for everyone who helped me move (at a restaurant called Big League), there were table tents with information about the Luke Bryan concert. My sisters and I were there discussing the beauty that is Luke Bryan and Tommy, true to form, wasn't the least concerned about the conversation (I know some girls think jealousy equates to love, but I am not one of them and absolutely adore that Tommy is so completely laid back about those things). I will admit I was pushing the bar just to see if I could get at least a raised brow, but nothing!

Sooo at his birthday dinner, when it should have been all about him, Tommy tells me he got me a surprise: three tickets to see Luke Bryan! (One for me and one for each of my sisters; Kiera has absolutely no desire to go to any country music concert other than Garth and probably Lady A.) What an amazing boyfriend, right?

The concert is tomorrow night and since Melissa is working (now working nights at Fed Ex in addition to days at Wendy's), I'm taking my darling friend, Stephanie, in her place.
I am hoping that Stephanie will give Lea a ride home from the show as I fully plan on eloping with Luke!

Mmmkay, well maybe not, but a girl can dream. :)

CMT Ramblings

I've found that the best way to make the time fly on the elliptical is via CMT music video mornings.
Even though they have a looong commercial break every two or three songs, the time just seems to fly by while I'm watching it. And, seeing as how I'm recently reunited with country music, every song is a new song.

A couple of observations, in no particular order:

I love Luke Bryan.
When did the men of country music get so fine?
Gezus.

Where did this chick come from?
Is she a legit country singer?
She's terrible: makes Katie Parry look talented.

I love this very moment of the video.
I'll watch the whole thing just to get here.

This is JT Hodges "Hunt You Down," filmed on Beale St.
While I like the video (don't love it), what I find really endearing is the Beale
St. crackhead that comes running in at the end (captured in the above frame).

Worst. Acting. Ever.
Seriously? Nobody tested those chops before hiring her?

Current personal favorite.
My Mom exposed me to Alabama (the only country group she listened to)
VERY early in my childhood (think Memphis Chicks baseball in the 1980s).
A Brad Paisley/Alabama combo = unstoppable.

There's sooo much more to share, but I have way too much on my plate to be blogging around.
Now, back to the grind.
